Applications are submitted exclusively through the online portal, requiring official academic transcripts, a personal statement, a CV, a form of ID, a photo, contact details for two referees (ideally math and science teachers), and a €95 application fee. The admissions committee carefully evaluates each application to identify candidates who demonstrate exceptional academic rigor, intellectual curiosity, and motivation for the program.
Shortlisted applicants are invited to a 50-minute remote interview conducted entirely in English. The interview includes a 30-minute math problem-solving session to assess critical thinking and analytical skills, followed by a 20-minute discussion about the applicant’s academic goals, motivations, and interest in École Polytechnique. This multi-step process ensures that the program enrolls students who are not only academically accomplished but also eager to thrive in a demanding and innovative STEM environment.
